Resumen

Bangladesh es uno de los países más vulnerables al cambio climático a nivel mundial, enfrentando de manerarecurrente riesgos naturales como inundaciones, marejadas ciclónicas, sequías y ciclones tropicales, los cualesprovocan la pérdida y destrucción de viviendas, tierras y propiedades, debilitando así los medios de vida de lapoblación afectada y generando desplazamientos masivos en todo el país. Con el propósito de atender a estosgrupos vulnerables, el gobierno ha puesto en marcha diversos programas destinados a satisfacer sus necesidadesbásicas, entre ellos el Proyecto Ashrayan-2, implementado durante el Mujib Borsho como una estrategia de provisión rápida de viviendas para personas sin hogar ni tierras. En su primera fase, reportada el 23 de enerode 2021, se beneficiaron 69,904 familias mediante la entrega de casas con derechos de propiedad, mientras queen la segunda fase, reportada el 20 de junio de 2021, más de 53,000 familias recibieron un beneficio similar.El presente estudio examina el impacto de dicho proyecto en los medios de vida de los hogares beneficiarios,aplicando el enfoque de plataforma de medios de vida del Marco de Medios de Vida Sostenibles (SLA, por sussiglas en inglés) y utilizando información recopilada de 145 hogares en ocho áreas de intervención del distritode Tangail. Los resultados indican que el proyecto ha tenido un impacto positivo, aunque moderado, en losmedios de vida de los beneficiarios, y que tanto los programas generadores de ingresos como las facilidadesasociadas a la vivienda contribuyen a la mejora de sus condiciones socioeconómicas.
