Abstract

The objective of the study was to analyze the relationship between economic growth and the distribution of income in Peru. Using the macroeconomic data, descriptive statistics and estimating Minimum Ordinary Squares, it is concluded that, during the study period, it is concluded that inequality tends to decrease; while, the relationship between economic growth and inequality distribution of Peruvians shows the inverted U form, but this indicator is still very high in relation to other countries; and the reduction of unequal income distribution contributes to greater economic growth in the country.
